CISA establishes steel industry law society to be based in Wuhan

On September 2, the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) held an inauguration ceremony to mark its foundation of a law society for the Chinese domestic steel industry to be based in Wuhan, Hubei Province. This is the first law society to be established by any industrial association in China.

At the inauguration, Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd (WISCO), one of the largest steel producers in China, was elected as the company which will chair the steel industry law society. Meanwhile, other major domestic companies - China Metallurgical Group, China Steel Corporation, Baosteel Group and Anshan Steel Group - were elected as deputy chairs.
