China completes ultra-low emission renovation process for 330 million mt of crude steel capacity

As of the end of August this year, the whole process of ultra-low emission renovation has been completed for around 330 million mt of crude steel production capacity in China, as announced by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China (MEE).

Meanwhile, sintering pellet desulfurization and denitrification, yard closure and other key engineering transformations have been completed for 460 million mt of crude steel production capacity. These capacities account for 76 percent of the overall crude steel production capacity in China.
