ChTPZ releases 2008 operational results

One of the largest Russian pipe producers, ChTPZ Group, consisting of Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) and Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works, has announced its operational results for 2008.

Accordingly, during the period in question, the group decreased its pipe shipments by 20 percent year on year to 1.509 million metric tons.

In 2008, Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) registered a decrease of 23 percent in its pipe deliveries to 806,700 mt, including a 33 percent fall in its large diameter pipe deliveries to 398,000 mt, both compared with 2007.

On the other hand, Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works' 2008 pipe shipments decreased by 17 percent year on year, amounting to 702,200 mt.
