Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has announced its production results for 2014.

For the full year of 2014, ChTPZ shipped 2.073 million mt of steel pipes to customers, representing a 23.6 percent increase compared to 2013, including 1.035 million mt of seamless pipes and 1.038 million mt of welded pipes.

In 2014, ChTPZ's oil country tubular good (OCTG) shipment volumes increased by nine percent year on year to 267,000 mt, while shipments of large diameter pipes amounted to 1 million mt, up 40 percent year on year. This success was due to implementation of Russian gas monopoly Gazprom's large-scale projects such as the Southern Stream, the Power of Siberia, and Bovanenkovo-Ukhta, and due to more orders for the repair and maintenance needs of Gazprom and Transneft.

The group's domestic market shipments rose by 31.8 percent year on year to 1.824 million mt in 2014. In the same period, 249,000 mt were exported, which was 15.3 percent less than in 2013.
