Chinese steel sector’s industrial capacity usage stands at 79.1 percent in July-September

The capacity utilization rate of the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry in China was at 79.1 percent in the July-September period of the current year, up 4.2 percentage points compared to the same period of last year, while it was up 0.1 percentage points compared to the April-June period last year, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Total industrial capacity utilization in China in the July-September period was at 75.6 percent, up 1.1 percentage points compared to April-June period this year, while holding the same growth compared to the same period of last year.

In the first nine months this year, the capacity utilization rate of the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry in China was at 78.7 percent, up 1.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year, while the capacity utilization rate of the total industrial capacity utilization in China stood at 74.8 percent, down 0.7 percentage points year on year.
