Chinese shipbuilding firms’ output value down 6.6 percent in H1

In the January-June period this year, the 80 medium-size and large shipbuilding enterprises in China realized an aggregate gross industrial output value of RMB 185.0 billion ($27.2 billion), down 6.6 percent year on year, according to the figures released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).

In the given period, the shipbuilding enterprises in question achieved aggregate exports totaling RMB 73.2 billion ($10.76 billion) in value, down 12 percent year on year.

In the January-June period, the shipbuilding enterprises recorded an aggregate operating revenue of RMB 128 billion ($18.82 billion), down 11 percent, and a total gross profit of RMB 980 million ($144.12 million), decreasing by 49 percent, both year on year.
