Chinese industrial enterprises’ gross profits up 9.4% in Jan-Feb

In the first two months of the current year, the aggregate gross profits of large and medium-sized industrial enterprises in China amounted to RMB 779.3 billion ($127.1 billion), increasing by 9.4 percent year to year, according to data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on March 27. The year-on-year growth rate for the period in question was lower than the rate of 12.2 percent recorded for the whole of 2013.

In the first two months this year, total gross profits of industrial enterprises in the domestic mining sector fell by 18.5 percent year on year to RMB 103.8 billion, while profits of enterprises in the overall domestic manufacturing sector rose by 14.8 percent year on year to RMB 610.9 billion.
