Chinese central bank raises deposit reserve ratio by 0.5 percentage points

Late on November 10, the Chinese central bank announced an increase of 0.5 percentage points in the deposit reserve ratio - the fourth time the bank has raised the deposit reserve ratio in the current year. The adjustment is expected to freeze an aggregate amount of RMB 300 billion ($45.3 billion) of capital and is aimed at cooling rising inflation in China.
