In the January-September period of the current year, the aggregate shipbuilding output for export orders in China totaled 25.85 million dead weight tons (dwt), up 15.2 percent year on year and accounting for 88 percent of the total shipbuilding output in China in the given period, according to the figures released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).
Meanwhile, China’s new ship export orders in the period in question amounted to 15.69 million dwt, down 68 percent year on year and constituting 86.4 percent of total new ship orders. As of the end of September, ship export orders on the books of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises totaled 127.05 million dwt, down13.7 percent year on year and constituting 95.3 percent of total ship orders on the books of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises.
In the January-September period of the current year, the aggregate shipbuilding output in China amounted to 29.37 million deadweight tons (dwt), up 12.7 percent year on year as previously announced by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI). In the given period, China’s new ship orders amounted to 18.16 million dwt, decreasing by 65.4 percent year on year. As of the end of September, ship orders on the books of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises totaled 133.27 million dwt, down 13.9 percent year on year.
