In September this year, China produced 42,000 new energy vehicles, up 25.7 percent year on year, including 34,000 pure electric passenger cars and 8,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, up 31.6 percent and 6.3 percent year on year, respectively, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
In the January-September period of the current year, China’s new energy vehicle output amounted to 302,000 units, up 93.0 percent on year-on-year basis, including 229,000 pure electric passenger cars and 73,000 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, rising by 118.1 percent and 41.7 percent year on year, respectively.
