China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has announced its elimination targets for backward or outdated production capacities in 2012, covering a total of 19 industries.
Accordingly, the overall annual output capacity elimination targets for the Chinese steel industry in 2012 are as follows: 10 million mt of pig iron, 7.8 million mt of crude steel, 20.7 million mt of coke, and 2.89 million mt of ferroalloys.
