China’s July output and sales of automotive vehicles decline from June levels

According to the latest data reported by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the production and sales volumes of automotive vehicles in China declined in July compared to June, with the decline margins greater for commercial vehicles than for passenger cars.

In July, China produced 1.2858 million automotive vehicles, down 7.54 percent month on month and up 15.67 percent year on year. Meanwhile, China sold 1.244 million vehicles in the month in question, down 11.9 percent month on month and up 14.42 percent year on year.

During the first seven months of the current year, China produced and sold a total of over 10 million vehicles. CAAM said it expects that the output and sales volumes of automotive vehicles in China will exceed 16 million units by the end of 2010.
