On February 5, Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jinxi Steel passed examinations for KS-mark certification.

Examinations for KS-mark certification comprise document inspection, site inspection and product inspection. On December 28, 2009, Jinxi Steel submitted a formal application for KS-mark certification to the Korea Standards Association (KSA) and then passed the document inspection on December 30. From February 4 to February 5, experts from the KSA conducted a strict on-the-spot examination at the producer's H-beam production site, inspecting product quality management and all other procedures.

Having previously obtained European, Singaporean and Japanese certifications, Jinxi Steel is expected to receive KS-mark certification in the very near future, which will green-light the export of its H-beam products to the South Korean market.
