China’s iron ore imports drop significantly in February

According to Chinese customs data, in February this year China imported 48.64 million mt of iron ore, down over 20 million mt from January. In the first two months of the current year, China's aggregate iron ore imports came to 117.61 million mt, up 22.6 percent year on year, while the average import price of iron ore in the period in question was $154.3/mt, surging by 62.6 percent compared with the same period of last year.
