China’s foreign trade value down 14.3 percent in January

In January this year, China’s total foreign trade value amounted to $291.664 billion, indicating a month-on-month decrease of 24.8 percent and a year-on-year decrease of 14.3 percent, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on February 15.
 
In the given month, the total value of China’s exports amounted to $177.475 billion, down 20.6 percent month on month and decreasing by 11.2 percent year on year, while Chinese imports totaled $114.188 billion in value, down 30.5 percent month on month and declining by 18.8 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $63.287 billion.
