China’s fixed asset investments up 17.2 percent in Jan-May

In the January-May period of the current year, total fixed asset investments (excluding rural households) in China amounted to RMB 15.3716 trillion ($2.508 trillion), up 17.2 percent year on year, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on June 13, with the year-on-year increase rate in question down 0.1 percentage point compared to that recorded in the January-April period this year.
 
In January-May this year, total fixed asset investment in China's mining sector amounted to RMB 401.8 billion ($65.55 billion), up 7.4 percent year on year, while fixed asset investment in China's manufacturing sector totaled RMB 5.3044 trillion ($0.865 trillion), up 14.2 percent year on year, with these respective year-on-year increase rates up 0.5 percentage point and down one percentage point compared to those recorded in the January-April period this year.
