China’s finished steel output up 24.1%

SteelOrbis Shanghai Finished steel output in China increased 24.1 percent year on year to to 371.17 million metric tons in 2005. Finished steel production increased 29.5 percent year on year in Hebei to 64.64 million metric tons, 21.9 percent in Jiangsu to 43.28 million metric tons, 21.9 percent in Liaoning to 32.06 million metric tons and 48.8 percent in Shandong to 30.08 million metric tons. These provinces accounted for around 45 percent of the total production in the country. China's total finished steel output in December increased 17.4 percent year on year to 33.73 million metric tons.
