China’s finished steel exports up 6.3 percent in January-August

In August this year, China exported 9.01 million mt of finished steel, down 12.52 percent month on month and decreasing by 7.4 percent year on year, while the finished steel export volume in the January-August period of the current year totaled 76.35 million mt, up 6.3 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on September 8.

In August this year, China exported 1.04 million mt of metallurgical coke, down 60,000 mt or 5.45 percent month on month and increasing by 62.5 percent year on year. In the January-August period, China’s coke exports totaled 6.89 million mt, increasing by 16.3 percent year on year.
