China’s finished steel exports up 36.9 percent in January-July

China exported 8.06 million mt of finished steel in July this year, up 14 percent month on month, while it exported 49.07 million mt of finished steel in the first seven months, rising by 36.9 percent year on year, according to data issued by the Chinese customs authorities on August 8.

In July, China imported 1.22 million mt of finished steel, increasing by 7.96 percent month on month, while its finished steel imports in the January-July period amounted to 8.47 million mt, up 5.8 percent year on year.

China imported 82.52 million mt of iron ore in July, rising by 10.66 percent month on month, while it imported 539.6 million mt of iron ore in the first seven months of the year, up 18.1 percent on year-on-year basis. In July this year, China exported 500,000 mt of metallurgical coke, down 4.17 percent month on month, while it exported 4.43 million mt of coke in the first seven months of the year, increasing by 116.8 percent year on year.
