China’s finished steel exports rise by 40.7 percent in Q1

China exported 7.7 million mt of finished steel in March this year, down 1.28 percent month on month but up 13.9 percent year on year, according to data issued by the Chinese customs authorities on April 13. In the January-March period, China exported 25.79 million mt of finished steel, rising by 40.7percent year on year.

In the month of March, China exported 0.68 million mt of metallurgical coke, up 21.43 percent month on month and rising by 4.6 percent year on year. In the first quarter of the current year, China exported 2.32 million mt of metallurgical coke, up 19.1 percent year on year.
