China’s finished steel exports down significantly in July from June

In July this year, China's finished steel product export volume totaled 4.32 million mt, down 900,000 mt month on month and decreasing by 2.99 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities. In January-July, total finished steel product exports of China amounted to 31.55 million mt, up 9.7 percent year on year.
 
In July, China's finished steel product imports amounted to 1.16 million mt, up 60,000 mt compared to June and down 6.89 percent year on year. In the first seven months of the current year, China's finished steel product imports totaled 8.11 million mt, down 12.5 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in July this year China's semi-finished steel imports amounted to 30,000 mt, unchanged compared to June. In January-July, total semi-finished steel imports amounted to 220,000 mt, down 30.6 percent year on year. China did not export any semi-finished steel in the first seven months of the current year.
