In March this year, China produced 62.0 million mt of pig iron, 72.0 million mt of crude steel and 96.76 million mt of finished steel, up 1.3 percent, 1.8 percent and down 0.7 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In the January-March period of the current year, China produced 175.64 million mt of pig iron, 201.1 million mt of crude steel and 262.95 million mt of finished steel, up 4.1 percent, 4.6 percent and 2.1 percent year on year, respectively.
