China’s crude steel output up 2.9 percent in March

In March this year, China produced 60.20 million mt of pig iron, 70.65 million mt of crude steel and 99.23 million mt of finished steel, up 2.2 percent, 2.9 percent and 3.3 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

In the January-March period of the current year, China produced 166.12 million mt of pig iron, 192.01 million mt of crude steel and 262.30 million mt of finished steel, down 4.1 percent, decreasing by 3.2 percent and remaining stable year on year, respectively.
