China’s coal shipments by railway up 0.5 percent in January-April

China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that in April of the current year coal shipments by Chinese railways amounted to 178 million mt, down 0.3 percent year on year, while in the January-April period this year shipments totaled 769 million mt, up 0.5 percent year on year.

In the first four months, the railway line from Datong, Shanxi Province to Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province transported 145 million mt of coal, up 0.2 percent, while the railway line from Houma, Shanxi to Yueshan, Henan transported 60.97 million mt of coal, up 1.3 percent, both year on year.
