China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that in October of the current year coal shipments by Chinese railways amounted to 190 million mt, down 4.3 percent year on year, while in the January-October period shipments totaled 1.91 billion mt, remaining almost stable year on year.
In the first 10 months, the railway line from Datong, Shanxi Province to Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province transported 370 million mt of coal, up 1.7 percent, while the railway line from Houma, Shanxi to Yueshan, Henan transported 150 million mt of coal, up 0.4 percent, both year on year.
Meanwhile, according to
China's customs, in the January-October period of the current year,
China imported 240 million mt of coal, down 7.7 percent year on year, while it exported 4.86 million mt of coal, declining by 23 percent year on year.
