China’s coal imports increase by 82.0 percent in January-August

In the January-August period of the current year, China’s coal imports amounted to 305.513 million mt, increasing by 82 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on September 7.

In August alone, China’s coal imports totaled 44.333 million mt, up 12.9 percent month on month, while rising by 50.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
