On March 19, the
China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in early March (Mar. 1-10) this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in
China totaled 1.6606 million mt, down 7.96 percent compared to late February (Feb. 21-28). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel
production of all steelmakers in
China in early March was estimated at 2.0968 million mt, indicating a rise of 0.69 percent compared to late February. In the March 1-10 period,
China produced a total of 20.9678 million mt of crude steel, 18.1798 million mt of pig iron, 18.1798 million mt of finished steel and 13.7219 million mt of coke.
According to the CISA's previous figures, in late February this year the average aggregate daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in
China totaled 1.8041 million mt, up 6.82 percent compared to mid-February (Feb. 11-20). Meanwhile, the average aggregate daily crude steel
production of all steelmakers in
China in late February was estimated at 2.0817 million mt, indicating an increase of 5.8 percent compared to mid-February.
Meanwhile, as of March 10, 2014, overall inventory of the main finished steel products in the major steel markets in
China totaled 16.6622 million mt, up 408,900 mt or 2.52 percent as compared to the figure recorded on February 28.
