In April this year, the average aggregate daily
crude steel output in
China amounted to 2.2947 million mt, up 1.2 percent compared to the average daily figure recorded in March this year and constituting a new record high, as announced by
China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on May 13. In April, the average aggregate daily finished steel output in
China totaled 3.083 million mt, up 0.53 percent from the daily average for March.
China's
crude steel output amounted to 68.84 million mt in April, up 2.1 percent, while total domestic
crude steel production for the first four months was 271.86 million mt, rising by 2.7 percent, both year on year.
China produced 60.18 million mt of
pig iron in April, down 0.8 percent, while it produced 239.44 million mt in the first four months, up 0.2 percent, both year on year. Chinese finished steel
production in April came to 92.50 million mt, up 5.4 percent, while the figure for the first four months amounted to 353.59 million mt, up 5.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
