China’s 74 monitored shipbuilding enterprises post a gross profit of RMB 4.64 billion in January-May

In the first five months this year, 74 monitored shipbuilding enterprises registered an operating revenue of RMB 137.64 billion ($19.6 billion), up 31.1 percent year on year, while posting a gross profit of RMB 4.64 billion ($0.66 billion), shifting from loss into profit, as announced by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI).

In the January-May period, the new shipbuilding order volume held by China, South Korea and Japan accounted for 67.3 percent, 22.8 percent and 8.1 percent of the overall new shipbuilding order volume in the global market.
