The long-awaited decision from China came on New Year's Eve. According to Chinese government's website, the export tax rebate on boron-added steel products, that cause pollution during production, will be removed effective January 1, 2015. The cancellation of the export rebate tax will apply to boron-added wire rod, bar, hot rolled plate and sheet and hot rolled narrow strip.

According to Ministry of Finance, the elimination of the export tax rebate will affect the boron-added steel products under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 72254091, 72269191, 72279010 and 72283010. However, boron-added hot rolled steel coil is not included.
