Chile’s iron ore producer Cap Mineria received an environmental approval from the nation’s environment authority, SEA, to advance its Cruz Grande port project, the company said in a statement Thursday.

According to Cap, the port will have a 300,000 mt iron ore loading capacity, aimed to meet the company’s and/or its partner’s needs.

Upon completion of the port, Cap Mineria will reinforce its presence in Coquimbo region, in the South Pacific coast, the statement said.

The expected investment should reach $250 million.
