In Q1 of this year, Cherepovets Steel Mill, a subsidiary of Russian steelmaker Severstal, shipped 115,000 mt of new products, five percent of its total output volume of commercial products. The greatest number of new products was produced at its mill 2000.
In particular, the company has mastered rolling production of steel grade 13HFA in cooperation with Russia's largest pipe producer TMK Group. Products of this steel grade have a unique set of characteristics, which allows finished products (pipes) to be used in difficult climatic conditions in Russia's Far North for the transportation of petroleum products with high hydrogen sulfide content.
In addition, the company has mastered the production of rolled steel of grade J55 for Turkish pipe producer Borusan. The products have very few detrimental impurities and nonmetallic inclusions.
In the first quarter, production of round billets or ingots with diameter of 100 mm made from new steel grade 70G was mastered.
