Chengsteel supplies quake-resistant steel bars for nuclear power plant

According to Chinese steelmaking giant Hebei Iron and Steel Group, to date its subsidiary Chengde Iron and Steel Group (Chengsteel) has supplied 51,200 mt of 12-40 mm HRB 335E and HRB 400E high-strength quake-resistant steel bars to Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant, which is located in Dalian, Liaoning Province, in northeastern China.
 
The project for the nuclear power plant was approved by the China-based National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in April 2006. Construction commenced in August 2007 and is expected to be completed in 2014. Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant is the largest energy project in northeast China
