Charter Manufacturing acquires Illinois-based Dura-Bar

Mequon, Wisconsin-based Charter Manufacturing Co. announced Thursday that as part of its stock purchase of Illinois-based Wells Manufacturing Co., it has acquired Dura-Bar and Dura-Bar Metal Services.  Dura-Bar's products include cast-iron bar and bronze alloys.  Charter produces steel bars, rod and wire.
 
Wells Manufacturing employs approximately 360 workers at its Dura-Bar facilities in Woodstock, Ill.; York, Pa.; Salisbury, N.C.; and Changzhou, China.
