Canton Fair sees nearly 20 percent rise in export volume

The first phase of the biannual 106th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) held in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou on October 15-19 registered increases both in the number of buyers and in the export volume. About 92,000 overseas buyers participated in the fair, up 11.4 percent compared to the last fair, while the export volume resulting from business concluded at the fair totaled $15.58 billion, up 19.6 percent compared with the 105th session.

The EU, the Middle East, and the US accounted for the biggest trading volumes at the fair, with respective figures of $3.82 billion, $2.77 billion and $1.81 billion, together accounting for 53.9 percent of the total trading volume.
