Canadian rig count swings upward while US count still drops

Baker Hughes has reported that for the shortened holiday week ending November 25 the US rig count decreased by 13 to 744, after a 10-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count dropped by four to 189, whereas the oil rig count decreased by nine to 555. The overall rig count is still down by 1,173 from 1,917 rigs during the same week a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count also increased by 18 in the week ending November 25 to 184, after a 10-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 254 from 438 rigs during the same week a year ago.
