Canadian rig count rises again, in contrast to US count

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 12 the US rig count decreased by nine to 859, after a seven-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count decreased by one to 221, whereas the oil rig count decreased by seven to 635. The overall rig count is down by 995 from 1,854 rigs during the same week a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 11 in the week ending June 12 to 116, after an 18-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 117 from 244 rigs during the same week a year ago.
