Canadian rig count sees surprising surge while US count rises again

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending June 10, the US rotary rig count increased by six to 414 following a four-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by three to 85, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by three to 328. The overall rig count is still down by 445 rigs, year-on-year.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 24 in the week ending June 10 to 65, following a two-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is still down by 62 from the same week a year ago.
