Canadian rig count plummets again as US rigs rebound

According to the latest report from Baker Hughes, for the week ending March 30, Canada's rig count fell 96 to 256 rigs, flowing a 165-rig drop the previous week; the overall rig count is down 29 year-on-year.

The US rig count increased by 11 to 1,979 last week and is up 203 year-on-year. After weeks of declines, the US gas rig count was up six to 658, but remained down 233 year-over-year. Oil rigs increased by five to 1,318 and are up 441 from the same week a year ago.
