Thursday, the Canadian National Railway Co. in Montreal announced that the company is acquiring about 400 new steel-carrying cars and is improving its network near major steel companies based in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, and near Hamilton, Ontario to respond quickly to "spot sales" requirement to haul steel for North American steel producers.
Canada's largest railway said it is acquiring 200 standard gondolas and 200 open-coil gondolas in addition to the almost 700 new iron ore care it has acquired since 2008 in order to grow and develop the quality of its freight car fleet.
