Statistics Canada reported Tuesday that the number of new motor vehicles sold in Canada fell 1.1 percent in April to 134,529 units. Preliminary industry data also indicate that the number of new motor vehicles sold in May also fell 6 percent.
The heaviest declines were seen in sales of trucks, which declined 3 percent in April. Sales of passenger cars, however, rose 1.4 percent-the third consecutive monthly gain.
