Canada’s Altius posts loss for Q1 FY 2011-12

Canada-based mining company Altius Minerals Corporation (Altius) has announced its financial results for the three months ended July 31, 2011, posting a net loss of C$1,588,000 to a net loss of C$83,000 for the same period last year.
 
In the given period, Altius' revenue increased to C$2.15 million compared to C$1,287,000 in the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
According to the company statement, Altius' mineral exploration activity during the quarter focused on independent and partner-funded early stage exploration on several projects, including a recently expanded alliance agreement with Cliffs Natural Resources. Findings of exploration projects are being evaluated and exploration works will continue through fall this year
