Canada's AD duties on HR steel plate from China near expiration

According to an announcement by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Canada's antidumping (AD) duties on hot rolled (HR) carbon steel plate from China effective as of January 9, 2008 are due to expire on January 8, 2013.

The CBSA stated that, if no application for the continuation of the duties is submitted to the Canadian International Trade Tribunal by the relevant interested parties before the expiry date, they will terminate the antidumping duties on the related products.

On February 13, 1997, the CBSA initiated an AD investigation against hot rolled carbon steel plate from China. The products in question are covered by the following HS Codes: 72085110.00, 72085199.10, 72085199.91, 72085199.92, 72085199.93, 72085199.94, 72085199.95, 72085219.00, 72085290.10, 72085290.91, 72085290.92, 72085290.93, 72085290.94, and 72085290.95. On September 25, 1997, the CBSA issued a final affirmative determination on the products in question, applying an AD duty rate of 27.30 percent.
