The
China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has stated that in August this year the aggregate auto output of its member enterprises in
China totaled 1,501,400 vehicles, up 4.48 percent month on month and 7.78 percent on year-on-year basis. Specifically, in the given month,
production of passenger cars reached 1,228,500 units, indicating a month-on-month increase of 3.69 percent and up10.00 percent compared to August last year. Meanwhile, in August commercial vehicle output increased by 8.18 percent compared to July but fell by 1.19 percent year on year, totaling 272,900 units.
In August this year, overall auto sales amounted to 1,495,200 units, up 8.40 percent month on month and rising by 8.26 percent year on year, including 1,218,900 passenger cars, up 8.81 percent, and 276,300 commercial vehicles, up 6.63 percent, both compared to July.
In the January-August period of this year, aggregate auto output in
China reached 12,470,300 vehicles, up 5.19 percent compared to the same period last year, including 10,014,200 passenger cars and 2,456,100 commercial vehicles, up 8.73 percent and down 7.15 percent respectively, both year on year.
Meanwhile, in the given period, the overall auto sales volume witnessed a year-on-year increase of 4.10 percent to 12,474,700 units, including 9,954,000 passenger cars and 2,520,700 commercial vehicles, up 7.98 percent and decreasing by 8.85 percent year on year, respectively.
