CAAM: China’s passenger vehicle output up 9.4 percent in Jan-Apr

In April this year, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China totaled 1.7541 million units and 1.6688 million units, decreasing by 9.0 percent and 10.8 percent month on month, while up 5.2 percent and 3.7 percent year on year, respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-April period, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 7.0637 million units and 6.9739 million units, up 9.4 percent and 7.7 percent year on year.

As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales in April amounted to 325,600 units and 325,700 units, down 8.3 percent and 12 percent month on month, while decreasing by 18.6 percent and 17.6 percent year on year, respectively. In the January-April period, domestic output and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 1.2172 million units and 1.1709 million units, down 18.5 percent and 19.1 percent year on year,
respectively.

Meanwhile, in April, China's auto export volume amounted to 61,600 units, down 11.8 percent month on month, while declining by 21.5 percent year on year, including 32,000 passenger vehicles and 29,600 commercial vehicles, down 17.8 percent and 4.3 percent month on month, while decreasing by 31.3 percent and 7.1 percent on year-on-year basis, respectively.

In the first four months of the year, China's auto export volume totaled 245,000 units, down 14.6 percent year on year, including 136,700 passenger vehicles and 108,300 commercial vehicles, down 20.7 percent and 5.5 percent year on year, respectively.
