CAAM: China's auto vehicle sales up 7.9 percent in January-July

In the January-July period this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 15.65 million units and 15.626 million units, increasing by 7.4 percent and 7.9 percent year on year, respectively, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In the January-July period this year, production and sales of passenger vehicles reached 13.397 million units and 13.368 million units, up 6.0 percent and 6.7 percent year on year, respectively.  

In the January-July period this year, production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 2.253 million units and 2.258 million units, up 16.9 percent and 15.9 percent year on year, respectively.  

In the first seven months this year, China’s vehicle export volume totaled 2.533 million units, up 67.9 percent year on year.   

In the first seven months, production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEV) totaled 4.591 million units and 4.526 million units, up 40.0 percent and 41.7 percent year on year, respectively, with the market share reaching 29.0 percent in the given period.    

In the January-July period, China’s vehicle export volume totaled 2.533 million units, up 67.9 percent year on year, including 636,000 NEVs, up 1.5-fold year on year.   

In July, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China totaled 2.401 million units and 2.387 million units, down 6.2 percent and 9.0 percent month on month, while down 2.2 percent and 1.4 percent year on year, respectively.   

In July alone, production and sales of passenger vehicles totaled 2.115 million units and 2.1 million units, down 4.7 percent and 7.4 percent month on month, while down 4.3 percent and 3.4 percent year on year, respectively.  

In July alone, production and sales of commercial vehicles totaled 286,000 units and 287,000 units, down 16.4 percent and 19.0 percent month on month, while up 17 percent and 16.8 percent year on year, respectively.  

In the given month, production and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) amounted to 805,000 units and 780,000 units, up 2.7 percent and down 3.2 percent month on month, while up 30.6 percent and rising by 31.6 percent year on year, respectively, with the market share reaching 32.7 percent in the given month.   

In addition, in July, China’s vehicle export volume amounted to 392,000 units, up 2.7 percent month on month, while up 35.1 percent year on year, including 101,000 NEVs, up 29.5 percent month on month, while rising by 87 percent year on year.
