In January this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 2.2870 million units and 2.3196 million units, down 0.1 percent and 3.8 percent month on month, while up 11.5 percent and 7.6 percent year on year respectively, as announced by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on February 10.
In particular, the output and sales volumes of passenger vehicles in China in January totaled 1.9693 million units and 2.0380 million units, increasing by 1.4 percent and down 1.1 percent month on month, while up 15.1 percent and 10.4 percent year on year respectively.
As for commercial vehicles, domestic output and sales in January amounted to 317,700 units and 281,600 units, down 8.5 percent and 19.3 percent month on month, while decreasing by 6.8 percent and 9.0 percent, year on year.
Meanwhile, in January, China's auto export volume amounted to 61,800 units, down 37.4 percent month on month, while declining by 10 percent year on year, including 35,000 passenger vehicles and 26,800 commercial vehicles, down 35.3 percent and 39.9 percent month on month, while decreasing by 23.5 percent and rising by 16.8 percent on year-on-year basis, respectively.
