‘Buy from Turkey’ e-trade website to go online in June

Turkish exporters led by the country's Ministry of Economy are preparing to launch the e-trade website ‘Buy from Turkey' in June this year, according to local Turkish media sources. The website, through which Turkish exporters will sell their goods abroad, is expected to increase Turkish exports by 20 percent.

Mr. Tahsin Oztiryaki, Turkish Exporters' Association's (TIM) vice president and founder of the website project with Serdar Kocturk, vice president of the Turkish Steel Exporters Association's (CIB), stated that the names, addresses, and product information of 45,000 Turkish exporters, as well as links to these companies' websites, have been posted to the e-trade website. Mr. Oztiryaki added that the last concrete step in the project was a cooperation agreement with "alibaba.com", a leading international e-trade website.
