Britain starts an investigation about Iraqi steel mill

Britain's representative in Baghdad starts an investigation about the long products' mill reconstruction plans near Basra in the south of Iraq. It is reported that particularly the State Company for Iron & Steel will be in the focus of investigation. Through this investigation, the Britain representative is going to find out about the outlook of Iraqi industry and infrastructure of Basra, and also, try to learn what Iraq considers about the reconstruction plans. According to industry sources, the coalition forces will help the locals to reconstruct the country. And Britain is one of the coalition forces and is responsible for the Basra region. The State Company for Iron & Steel has an annual production capacity of 50'000 tons and mainly produce round bars, and also, billets, light angles, heavy channels, spiral weld tubes and pipes. In addition, the steel companies worldwide are making great effort to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq.
