Bri-Chem Corp achieves API certification

Edmonton, Alberta-based Bri-Chem Corp., a wholesale distributor and manufacturer of oil and gas drilling fluids and steel pipe, announced Thursday that its large diameter steel pipe manufacturing facility has received final audit approval and has obtained its American Petroleum Institute (API) certification. The stage two audit was performed onsite and API auditors verified conformance with API Spec Q1, 5L, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 29001. As a result, Bri-Steel Manufacturing Inc. has received the following certifications from API:
  • API MONOGRAM LICENSE NO. 5L-0898
  • APIQR REGISTRATION NO. 1584 FOR ISO 9001:2008
  • APIQR REGISTRATION NO. Q1-1409 FOR API SPEC Q1
  • APIQR REGISTRATION NO. TS-1300 FOR ISO/TS 29001
The facility has been operating one 12-hour shift four days per week utilizing two full production lines and in late May we added a second 12-hour shift utilizing one production line. It is anticipated that by mid-June, 2012 both production lines will be operating 24-hour shifts four days per week.
